The company was awarded to design and supply two 35m counter current decantation (CCD) thickeners for Namibian uranium mine, Langer Heinrich for its Phase 3 expansion project.
The tanks are due to leave the workshop for delivery in the next few of weeks. This is Roytec's first thickener contract with the client, although it did previously supply the fixed bed ion exchange circuit and the large volume segmented tanks for the same project. The project consists of the supply of the thickener tanks, hydraulically driven high torque drive mechanisms, rake arms, rake blades, high rate feedwell, agitated feed tanks and pumped feed dilution mechanism.
